missing us. there's a lot of tropical moisture from an old tropical storm impacting palm springs, far southeastern california western arizona las vegas metro area. but that is also going to miss us staying to our east. right in between we find enough pressure, high pressure, off to our east keeping that moisture away and low pressure to our north giving us a light onshore flow. just enough of mother nature's air-conditioning to cut the heat. we get the afternoon sunshine but we won't have any heat waves. changes coming, not until this upcoming weekend. but it's labor day weekend as low pressure gets closer, our rain likely will cross the oregon-california border. i think it will stay to our north but this certainly will enhance the onshore flow keeping us cloudier and cooler as we approach the weekend. notice temperatures are going to drop about 5 to 7 degrees by the weekend. but the pattern of morning clouds, afternoon sunshine will continue for the next several days. pleasant weather with tempe

she said it would take us an hour. it took us exactly one hour to get from pleasanton to san francisco which usually is about a 40 to 45-minute commute. but you have to take it into consideration, weigh went the long way around -- we went the long way around 680 to 580 to 238 to 92 or something like that to 880 and then to the 101 and then san francisco. usually that would take you about an hour 15 on a great day. yesterday it took us about 40, 45 minutes. but we are driving at o:dark:00. that's what we are going to he do today show you the route from the tri-valley because many of you commute from the tri-valley into the city of san francisco. we are jumping in mobile5. you get to go along for the ride with my photojournalist tony and myself and we'll take you into san francisco and then we'll go from all points and beyond. maybe we might even end up in tijuana. it's the weekend, labor day holiday! so come along for the ride. we'll take you there. reporting from pleasanton with mobile5 roberta gonzales for kpix 5. >>

from nasa they sent us this image. look at all the smoke coming from the fire tracking more northerly direction all that smoke sliding up into lake tahoe and that fire continues to burning and looks like it will continue until we really get things under control maybe with some winter rain. so with that in mind, looks like today we are seeing cooler air moving onshore and we are seeing some fog outside, some thick fog, and dense enough visibilities down to a quarter of a mile in the santa rosa area this morning. the temperatures are running in the 50s and also the 60s. it's a bit damp out toward the coastline too. we are looking at drizzle toward the beaches so be careful on the roadways, maybe a little slick and you have that thick fog outside. but by the afternoon a lot of sunshine coming our way, about 88 degrees in concord, 68 degrees and mostly sunny into san francisco and should be about 81 degrees in san jose. all right. let's check the roads with elizabeth. >>> thank you, lawrence. some of our traffic cameras ar
